does the toilet …
does the toilet make a mark on the linoleum once it has been sitting a while? If so, you would have to change the linoleum anyway if you got a new toilet. I think it would look nicer pulling the toilet though and provide protection for wood flooring below the toilet if that is what you have.

that vinyl is, as we speak, curling up away from the toilet. i cant tell you how many times ive gone in to fix a butcher job like this, and believe me, its much harder to do it right the second time.

You can use double-sided tape. I’ve used in my motorhome where the temperature goes from -30C to +30C. Never had a problem for about 7 years already. And I can easily remove it all at any time, in no time.

PULL THE TOILET! …
PULL THE TOILET! It is so easy to remove and replace it that is almost a crime not to do pull it.
The last person to lay vinyl flooring in my bathroom did not pull the toilet. Not only was the calking around the toilet a real mess to clean up but they missed a good opportunity to inspect and change out the wax ring. My wax ring was completely deteriorated and water leakage has damaged my subfloor. I’m now in the middle of cutting a section of my sub floor because of the water damage.

Should never put calking around toilet either. If your tiolet is leaking you need to know about it.
