Installing Bellawood hardwood flooring?
I am wanting to install 3/8x3" Bella wood Oak flooring, over lino, above grade, would I want to just nail,or use glue and nails, what is the best way to nail, the typical hardwood nail er,or a finish nail gun
Gluing isn t an option over a vinyl floor. The glue you need will react with a vinyl since they are both petroleum based products.
You can t use the typical hard wood nailer or a finish nailer on 3/8 ths. These can only be used on 1/2" and thicker hard woods.
Like the other guy said, you must you a stapler. A special stapler at that. It san air driven stapler that you can buy or rent. You must check with Bella to see what size staples to use since the stapler will shoot from a 3/4" to a 1 3/4" staple and to maintain any warranty, you need the right length.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar . I v attended several installation seminars as well as installed a few 100,000 s/f of laminate.. GL

If it’s t&g and not one of the locking variety, you can glue or nail it.
The glue is pretty noxious and you can’t put anything on it until the floor cures. I use a bostich "floor runner" stapler. This makes it too easy. You move all the furniture to one side of the room, start stapling down floor, then move the furniture over on to where you were working and continue on the other side. No waiting.
About the only downside is that the thing doesn’t give you any feedback when it runs out of staples so you sometimes fire a few blanks before you realize it’s empty. The cost of the stapler was less than a rooms worth of glue. Of course, you’ll need to have or rent or borrow a compressor to drive it.
